Information for New Parents

As a parent/carer of a new starter, you’ll no doubt be keen to get started. It’s important that you get set up with access to our parental communication and online payment systems as soon as possible.

MyChildAtSchool (MCAS)

We use MCAS for communicating with parents and carers. You can log in via their website, but many parents and carers find it easier to download the MCAS app for their mobile device.

Please note that from September 2026, we also use MCAS for payments for dinner money, trips and other products (rather than Tucasi Scopay).

To set you up with an account, the academy will need your email address. Once your account is created you’ll receive an email containing a link to allow you set your password.

Once complete, login to the app or website using your email address and password.

Online Payments

Payments for meals, trips and other items are also managed via MCAS.

Guidance on how to view and add dinner money in MCAS can be found below.

Microsoft Office

All Ossett Academy pupils have a Microsoft Office license which can be installed at home for free by clicking the button below and logging in with their academy email address.

Every pupil is issued a user account during their first week at school. If you need any technical support and guidance, our Tech Support team will be happy to help. You can contact them on techsupport@accordmat.org.

Through Microsoft Office, pupils can access Microsoft Teams and Microsoft SharePoint.

We use Microsoft Teams to set homework and teach virtually in exceptional circumstances. Through Microsoft SharePoint, pupils are kept abreast of academy news and events.

Uniform

In acknowledgement of government guidance, we have taken the decision to rationalise our uniform suppliers based on cost comparisons and can confirm our preferred supplier to be The Box in Ossett. The Box stock academy approved blazers, PE tops and skirts. All other items of uniform can either be purchased from The Box or alternative high street retailers.
